Established
under Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (IIUS)
of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion,
Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India,
Auto Cluster is the first of its kind set-up in this
zone. Thanks to the Commerce & Industry Ministry,
which has generously supported the proposed Auto-Cluster
project to be located in the industrial areas of the
Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune will now play host to some of
the biggest names in the automobile sector.

The
primary objective of the cluster development scheme
is to improve the worthiness of domestic names in the
international circuit.
i)
Those who contribute Rs. 10 lac and above
the concession of 50% in the rates be given
to the extent of 10 times of such contribution.
ii) Those who contribute less than 10 lac
the concession shall be 50% of the rate
charge but restricted to 5 times from the
amount contributed.
The above amount should be utilised within
a period of 5 years.
In respect of payment of Rs. 10 lac the
first installment of Rs. 5 lac should be
paid on or before 30th September, and balance
to be paid on or before 31st December 2005.

The
scheme will emphasize on strategic interventions to
convert static local efficiency into dynamic competitiveness
by:
Promoting
innovation and collective learning.
Creating
suitable customized infra-structural support and
service network.
Promoting
product design and development through focused
support and association with specific R&D
institutions.
Assisting
the units in setting up/developing common facilities
like testing facilities, design centers, information
hub etc.
Assisting
appropriate technology transfer, information sharing
and quality improvement.
